PCAH Cuban Delegation Artist Joshua Bell and Chamber Orchestra of Havana Perform at Lincoln CenterGrammy Award–winning violinist Joshua Bell performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Havana at Lincoln Center. This was one of several such cultural exchanges resulting from PCAH's Delegation to Cuba in April 2016 and will be broadcast on December 16 as part of PBS' Live from Lincoln Center.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, PBS’  Live From Lincoln Center will broadcast Joshua Bell: Seasons of Cuba on December 16, 2016. Last April, Bell was an artist delegate of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities' Cultural Delegation to Cuba, the first official government-to-government bilateral initiative in the wake of President Obama’s trip to Cuba. The Grammy Award–winning violinist performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Havana, which includes some of Cuba’s most accomplished classical musicians. PCAH invited members of the Cuba Delegation to attend the recording of this performance, which had a range of selections from Vivaldi classics to Piazzolla tangos. This was one of several cultural exchanges and performances that grew out of the Cuba Delegation, creating opportunities for Cuban and American artists to share their work with audiences in the U.S. and Cuba.
